Mary Anne has been on the path of yoga since age 18. The journey has been rich: Yoga’s benefits are far-reaching, and sharing the rapid transformation yoga brings gives Mary Anne great appreciation for her teachers.
All of her formal training is in the Iyengar tradition, so alignment awareness has nourished her and Innerwork students’ practice. Her principle teachers are Aadil Palkhivala (20 years), Lillah Schwartz (4 years), Jehanghir Palkhivala (2 years) and Bryan Legere.
In 1995, Mary Anne became exposed to the teachings of Purna Yoga and the value of practicing meditation. Her respected meditation teachers are Savitri Savitri and Dr. Deepak Chopra. Mary Anne is a Chopra Center Certified Meditation teacher. Embracing the teachings of the aforementioned, Mary Anne gives gratitude for the joy of a healthy body, the peace from a relaxed mind, and the laughter from a happy heart.
Mary Anne is also a certified Polestar Pilates post-rehabilitation teacher of 16 years. Watching students rid their bodies of pain, achieve new movement patterns — essentially dial back the clock through their Pilates practice — is a great joy.
When not teaching, Mary Anne enjoys traveling, trekking with her husband, Phil, beach walks, and watching her two kitty cats meditate.
